“Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we learn. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and prejudices and the acceptance of love back in our hearts. Love is the essential reality and our purpose on earth. To be consciously aware of it, to experience love in ourselves and others, is the meaning of life. Meaning does not lie in things. Meaning lies in us.” – Marianne Williamson.
This is written to ‘The Great Mother Within’. We all have a part of ‘mother’ in our hearts. Those special moments in your life when someone loved you when you needed it most. A teacher. Your own mother, or someone in history that you drew strength from. I believe we have all been that mother at one time or another. A child we took a special interest in, a friend who needed a hug, a stranger who needed a our kindness.
As we learn to mother ourselves we may begin to notice all the motherly love in the world. Today is a day I stop to consider the great women of history; who have paved the way to this point in our evolution. I think of the great Mother Theresa who had no biological children and made it her mission to love humanity as only a mother can. In her words…..
“The most terrible poverty is loneliness and the feeling of being unloved.”
The great mother within us all has risen to the challenges of our life. We have left a situation that no longer served our higher interest. We gave more when we did not believe we had anything more to give. We have loved the unloveable, accepted the unacceptable and forgiven the unforgivable. We have doubted our greatness at times. Perhaps now we still doubt it. If we remember who we really are (that we are love) then we would not doubt how great we really are and just how much power we do have.
“The most common way people give up their power is by thinking they don’t have any” – Alice Walker
Whatever great things are going on in your life; cherish them. Whatever tragedy you have experienced, remember you have the courage within you to move forward. It is there, within us, as it has alway been since the beginning of the beginning of time. Mother is the great power source of love. Go within. Trust yourself. Believe in yourself. When you are too discouraged to do this then ask for help. A mother is there to love you, to honor you and to remind you of your true self.
No matter what. You can do this. I believe in you because I believe in the great mother within us all….
“The question isn’t who’s going to let me; it’s who is going to stop me.” – Ayn Rand
Happy Mother’s Day. Let no one stop you; least of all that critical thinking mind internally that tricks you into doubting that are capable of anything you set your mind to.
