Don’t Be Predictable

Pema Chodron is one of my favorite authors.  Both compassionate and very clear with using her sense of humor.  Her compassion cards offer daily lessons and I love the one that says hey self “Don’t be so predictable”.  Then you flip the card over and it says “Don’t resent people who have harmed you.”  Well damn~ Ego deflated.  Higher self activated!

To Forgive Self

Did you really screw up this time?  Will it cost you your marriage.  Did you lose a lot of money?  Did you harm someone or self?  Did you explode and get fired?  Maybe you hit the gas instead of the brakes.  Maybe you smoked into lung cancer, stressed into colon cancer, ate into obesity or drank into alcoholism?

The Evolution of Leadership

During a luncheon last week, the question arose “how can we develop those with raw talent into exceptional leaders”?  For a curious mind, that craves intellectual stimulation and challenges to expand in new ways, probing questions like these are the great elixir.  This is an idea I have struggled with along my own leadership journey.

Fear Is Activated By Change

We hear so often that companies want change.  We also might say we want change.  Companies may spend a lot to hire talented people, consultants, set up team building, or even subscribe to a business guru to create their mission statement and provide a guiding tool for others to follow.  We do this in our own personal life as well.  How many gadgets, memberships, seminars and books did we purchase to lose weight, manage our money, or find love?
